This center was opened by founder and president of the BPAI for organizing its 13th national annuals for selecting national teams dispatching to the Asian and world championships this year. The beautiful beach of Farah Abad with a cool climate was host of the top players from all around of Iran where the accommodation suites and restaurant with 1000 people capacity, amphitheater and meeting hall with 500 seats, medical clinic and beach are only 200 meters far from the Petanque courts at the same complex. Direct investment by the BPAI in building these Petanque and Bowls courts, in addition to the previous ones, will enable itself to be host of international events in different parts of Iran.
“After a decade of conflict with the illegal third parties, the Ministry of Sport and Youth of Iran reached to a clear decision resulting in stopping other parties’ activities to support authority and independency of the Boules and Petanque Association of Iran (BPAI), as the sole national governing body for all Petanque and Bowls Sports disciplines recognized by the world and Asian confederations since 2009, and to prevent destructive interference of other organizations. Our players, member provincial associations and clubs celebrated this satisfying decision in Sari! The Boules and Petanque Arena of Sari as the main BPAI center in this zone can guarantee four seasons outdoor event-organizing in the north-east of Iran which can positively affect development of our recognized disciplines in the period of December to March at the side of Caspian Sea each year.” Dr. Jasem Manouchehri who is Founder and President of the BPAI, Excom Member of the ABSC and Director General for Developing Petanque and Bowls in the West and Central Asia Zone, said.
