The Luxembourg Boules and Pétanque Federation, in collaboration with the International Pétanque and Provençal Game Federation, is organising a qualifying tournament for European countries that have not automatically qualified for the World Championship in Malaysia. Nouakchott (Mauritania) will host the 10th African Petanque Championships from 22 to 28 November 2025, organised by the CASP under the auspices of the FIPJP. Eighteen national delegations are expected to compete in individual, doubles, triples and precision shooting events, with qualifying places for the 2026 World Petanque Championships at stake. Between the Atlantic Ocean and the desert, the Mauritanian capital will be transformed into a hub for African petanque, offering participants the chance to discover the landscapes of the Sahara and Mauritanian culture.
